types for hardwood flooring. In this chapter we will discuss the 3 types of cuts used in hardwood flooring manufacturing.
The wood cut refers to the angle in which a board is cut and this can make a big difference in how the final product looks.
Wood flooring is either Plain sawn, Quarter sawn or Rift Sawn.
Plain sawn is the most common cut. The boards contain more variation than the other two cuts because of figure
patterns resulting from the growth rings are more conspicuous.
